META-TOO

META-TOO: A transfer of knowledge and technology for investigating gender-based inappropriate social interactions in the Metaverse is an EU-funded research project addressing inappropriate social interactions in the Metaverse while boosting the research and management capacity of the University of Athens.

The META-TOO project aims to investigate and address inappropriate social interactions in the Metaverse based on gender to create safer virtual environments. Additionally, the project focuses on enhancing The University of Athens' research and management capabilities, contributing to progress in this critical area.

The project has been funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program and runs for 3 years.

The project coordinator is Associate Professor Maria Roussou from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications. Other project partners include the French National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (Inria) and the Fundació de Recerca Clínic Barcelona-Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (FRCB-IDIBAPS) along with the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona (HCB) from Spain.
